In an article for Scientic American, PERI's James Boyce argues for Peter Barnes' definition of 'Universal Property' that includes natural assets as well as societal assets, such as the legal and institutional architecture of the financial system. Boyce goes on to propose that, if implemented on a significant scale, Universal Property can address climate change while advancing both equality and liberty.
