Over the past five decades, sub-Saharan Africa loses an average of 65 billion dollars per year in capital flight, far more than the annual inflows of official development assistance. In a commentary for JeuneAfrique, PERI's James Boyce and Léonce Ndikumana discuss their new book, On the Trail of Capital Flight from Africa : The Takers and the Enablers. They argue that "coordinated regional and global efforts are needed to tackle capital flight, corruption and corporate tax evasion."
