PERI Conference on Financialization and the Global Economy
December 07, 2001 December 08, 2001 -
UMass Amherst
This conference was organized to understand the increasingly important role that the financial sector - as well as its institutions and motives - play in the global economy. Papers defined the nature of financialization, explored its effects on growth and distribution, and examined policy instruments to mitigate its deleterious effects. This conference was made possible, in part, by the generous financial support of the Ford Foundation and the Rockerfeller Foundation.
