ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) is a U.S.-based organization of low- and moderate-income families, with over 120,000 member families organized into 600 neighborhood chapters in 45 cities across the country. ACORN's activities have prioritized living wage campaigns, accessible housing, better schools, and an end to predatory lending practices.

The Center for Economic Policy Analysis (CEPA) is the research center of the Department of Economics at New School University. The three main areas of policy research emphasized at CEPA are macroeconomic policy, inequality and poverty, and globalization.

The Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) promotes democratic debate on a wide assortment of economic and social issues that directly affect people's lives. To this end, CEPR conducts both professional research and public education on significant and timely public policy questions.

The Center for Popular Economics (CPE) is a nonprofit organization that teaches economic literacy to activists working for social change. CPE creates and communicates economic theories that incorporate an analysis of systems of oppression based on class, race, gender, and nation. Its programs and publications seek to demystify economics and offer alternative approaches to policy.

The Economic Policy Institute (EPI) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank that seeks to broaden the public debate about strategies to achieve a prosperous and fair economy. It focuses on economic and social analysis with a concern for the living standards of working people, and it makes its findings accessible to the general public, the media, and policy makers.

The Financial Markets Center is a nonprofit institute that provides research, policy development, and education resources to grassroots organizations, trade unions, policy makers, journalists, and other groups interested in the Federal Reserve and the financial sector. Through its work, the center seeks to promote democratic values, accountable public institutions, and improved living standards for ordinary citizens.

The International Association for Feminist Economics (IAFFE) advances feminist inquiry into economic issues; fosters dialogue and resource sharing among economists who take feminist views; educates economists, policy makers, and the general public on feminist points of view on economic issues; and promotes interaction among researchers, activists, and policy makers in order to improve scholarship and policy.

The Jerome Levy Institute , located at Bard College, is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, public policy research organization. The institute's research maintains a focus on fundamental issues central to achieving society's goals, with some degree of flexibility to respond to new or changing domestic and global challenges. Currently, research activities are focused in three program areas: the distribution of income and wealth, national economic policies for the 21st century, and explorations in theory and empirical analysis.

The National Labour and Economic Development Institute (Naledi) is a South African research organization with strong links to the labor movement and the Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu). Naledi conducts policy-relevant research in the South African and southern African context. Its current research programs include labor standards and job creation, public sector transformation, sectoral job summits, South-South linkages, union organization, women and work, and workplace reconstruction.

Network IDEAS http://www.networkideas.org(International Development Economics Associates) is currently based in New Delhi and has been established with the purpose of building a pluralist network of heterodox economists engaged in the teaching, research, and application of critical analyses of economic development. IDEAS facilitates research projects, analysis of current events, conferences, and capacity building programs of various types.
